Deck of Cards

I am having a very different Christmas Eve with my sister and family.

A tradition here is that niece B - who is very creative - dresses the conservatory with a theme in mind. It’s all done under great secrecy, so no one knows what the theme is until the big reveal, which was around 11am. We have joined Alice in Wonderland. On one side everything is bigger than in the real world, on the other everything is smaller, separated by two large Christmas trees rescued from niece R’s school.

After entering Wonderland we raised our glasses of Prosecco and orange, reaching up to pick up some of B’s chocolate cup cakes which dotted the top of a gigantic mushroom. Lunchtime was B’s home made tomato soup and sandwiches (bread baked by BiL) and a tea party.

The evening meal is the final mystery, the kitchen is currently out of bounds.
