We have decided to save the rest of the family from catching our bugs by abstaining from the gathering tomorrow, instead preparing a Christmas Lunch for the two of us that had been bought, and planned for later in the week.
We were out sharp this morning to join the polite crowd in Waitrose for our few necessities, suitably masked, of course.
When it comes to making the various accompaniments for the meal the ingredients are fairly easy to keep in proportion but I was a bit put out to find all the loose onions in the supermarket beautifully large and consistent in size but therefore impossible to find a smaller one needed for the bread sauce, for example. So the sausage stuffing has one and a half onions, with the remaining half kept for the sauce.
Otherwise all is pretty much as usual, both stuffings ready for the turkey with plenty left over for turkey sandwiches. Our timeline is very flexible as we won't attend church and will have lunch à deux for the first time since the children were born, if ever.
May I wish my Blip friends and everyone in Blipland a very Happy Christmas.
