What the Heck is This?

I knew as I was doing it that it was a dumb idea but I did it anyway. I ordered a dog bed called 'My Fluffy Friend' for Spike. I knew that he doesn't like dog beds. He's had several and rejected them all. He prefers his rug on the floor.  But I thought maybe this would be 'The One'. It was so soft and fluffy. I convinced myself it was worth a try. I might have had a wee glass of wine or two. Then I forgot all about it.

Today, as I was preparing the bouillabaisse for Christmas Eve dinner the postman in his Santa hat, put a package on the front porch and knocked 
on the doo, before driving off  down the driveway. It took awhile to get it open but eventually John got it open and put it on the floor on top of Spike's rug. He immediately dragged it off the rug and over to the couch where John tried to interest him in trying it out. 

The rest is pretty obvious from the pictures. We got the same look as John used to give his grandmother when she gave him new underwear and socks for Christmas....
