Wise Guy

A friend and I were walking in the woods when this large bird flew right overhead and perched on a branch high above. Before we could actually see it clearly, we thought it was probably an eagle, but after it landed and sat still, we saw that it was an owl. I took one photo, walked closer, took another etc. until I was right underneath him. He just looked down at us but didn't fly away.
Of course it was pretty dark in the forest, but thanks to digital technology I was able to open up the light so we could see some detail!
I'm not sure of the exact ID of this owl, but I think it is a Great Horned Owl, and was a special thing to see.
