Day 14; White(ish) Christmas
it’s been a long day. It started around midday with present opening with D&V, Mum, Auntie, Uncle, Anniemay and me.
Shorly afterwards, Elvis the baker and Yakshi arrived to help with the cooking. Of course, as you might expect, it didn’t go quite according to plan.
Although the turkey went into the ground more or less on time, we sat around chatting in the garden, drinking beer, admiring Dan’s table (see extra) and forgot all about the roast potatoes and all the other bits and pieces until late afternoon, by which time more people had arrived.
By about 5.00pm we sat down - 10 of us round the table, the rest perching where ever they could find something to sit on.
It all worked surprisingly well. The idea of cooking a turkey in a hole in the ground had raised a few eyebrows, but Elvis clearly knew what he was doing.
We were too stuffed for dessert, so that will have to wait until tomorrow.
I hope you and yours had the sort of day that you had wished for.
