Merry Christmas!

Today we opened the presents to everyone else in the house, before heading over to A's sister's house, where presents to/from her, her husband, and daughter were exchanged. Then we attacked aperitif, with the tapenade-filled puff pastry Christmas tree made by daughter L. This was followed by seafood vol-au-vents (with vegetarian alternative), duck with (daughter K's) gratin Dauphinois and fine beans, and cheese. After a pause, we had two Christmas logs: one from sponge, and one ice cream and sorbet 

It had been beautiful weather all day so, after everyone had had a short walk, I went rather further, returning on a muddy footpath that passes C's house (pictured). I arrived as the first round of board games had finished, and then played Rummikub before being first to finish in a marathon game of Uno!
