Red Bird Of Paradise

These wild looking bushes actually hit their blooming prime back in June.  But the recent monsoon rains have brought back the brighter colors and livened them up a bit.

They are a pretty common plant used in landscaping and they are  all over my mother's neighborhood.  I parked in her neighbor's carport (they are snowbirds) to get out of the sun, and this bush is right there next to their house.

I had to get a root canal inside an old root canal this morning.  He had to drill through a crown.  If I thought it hurt before...
