You were supposed to skim the rooftops!
WEDNESDAY - Christmas Day
We live on the edge of a dark sky area and with the power cut last night it was pitch black out there. A haven for stargazing.
I woke up just before 8:00 am this morning, expecting the electricity to be back on but was met with... nothing. The street was still in darkness after eight hours without power.
By torchlight I boiled water for tea on the gas hob, lit the gas fire and charged my phone from the power bank. Meanwhile, the globetrotters (Harriet and George) were still sleeping off their jet lag.
The Scottish Power Network website indicated the power wouldn’t be restored until 12:30 pm. I could imagine that a few hundred unwashed residents of Tremeirchion and St Asaph were starting to fret about cooking their Christmas dinner. Not the best day for power outage,
I noticed several Scottish Power vans parked down the street. I decided to take a short stroll and found the crews working on the lines in a field just four houses away (main picture).
The power was finally restored just as we were opening our presents, and we were able to shower and enjoy a traditional Christmas dinner with Harriet and George (see extra). Now, we’re settling down to watch Wallace and Gromit and all the other festive TV specials.
Best wishes to all my Blip friends. Hope you all had a lovely day
