What's a Twinkie?

Can you believe my kids or my niece didn't know what a Twinkie was?? I feel kinda proud! And also, they didn't even really like one when they tried it!

My youngest, Katrina will be 6 tomorrow. We'll be having a rainbow and hearts party for her with 6 giggly friends. Then dinner with family. Got the castle bouncy too. They delivered it a day early - much fun for the kids!

The butterfly's body is made up of Twinkies. I think this is only the second cake I've made her. Gummy worm, lifesavers, and smarties. I think I made a Care Bear for her 2nd birthday. Poor third kids. They just don't get all the perks of the firstborns. This is also the first party she's been able to invite friends over for!

On the subject of Twinkies (and perhaps the reason I find it so funny that they didn't know what they were)....when my cousins & I were young, we called my Uncle Mike "Uncle Twinkie" because he drove a Twinkie delivery truck for many years. And he always arrived with lots of sugary goodies for us! Popular uncle. :)
