Food

Apart from a short trip to Valence in the morning, the whole day was around food!
In the afternoon I made the main course for the evening meal, a salmon and spinach en croûte. To go with it,  Lucie made an excellent sauce with prawn, fish stock, cream, lemon, garlic and dill. Katya made a ganache to cover the log she made yesterday (blipped), she also made a gratin Dauphinois for Christmas Day. Lucie made a puff pastry and tapenade Christmas tree for the Christmas Day apéritif. Julian and I helped with the starter. Then while mum and Lucie went to Christmas mass, Julian and I prepared the oysters.
My sister, brother in law, and Mélanie (my niece) were also at the mass and all came back together, and we started the apéritif pretty much straight away. We ended up eating far too much, and didn't even have the cheese course, but the food was good and well appreciated.
It was a good evening. I am really aware of how fortunate I am.
