Christmas on the Street
We had a lovely morning opening gifts and cooking food for 40. Our little team each took an element to cook which made it easier. Also it meant each person made their part of the meal with utter love and care, and as a result the food was amazing - possibly the tastiest year! Main pic was before the meat and Christmas condiments were put in.
It was such a gorgeous time in the street, such a community feel. We had loads of our homeless friends, some friends who'd have been alone, some friends out from prison on bail, some friends from Lighthouse... Absolutely gorgeous. An extra pic taken by Claire, from the other side of the plaza.
Later I popped to meet a few friends for a sunset drink, before coming home for cheese and crackers and Wallace and Gromit.
It's been a special day.
Today I'm grateful for;
1) Thoughtful gifts...including a very sweet kids ring from Nate for me, with a little turtle on it.
2) The team of people who helped today feel so special. We all felt the love. Every part was full of care, from the meals, to the homemade cake, to the gifts... Good conversation and good community.
3) Chatting to mom and dad and Han.
