An early start today for an orthopaedic consultant follow up in Ashbourne. I set off at 7.15 so that I could possibly nip into Morrisons in Ashbourne and still get to the hospital early (to snaffle one of the few visitor spaces in the car.park). A quick Google search when I got to Ashbourne taught me that there's no Morrisons in Ashbourne. I wonder where I was thinking of?
However, there is a Sainsbury's next to the hospital so I nipped in there to get some bread. It was a ghost town. I picked up some celery and tomatoes, begrudgingly paying full price when I know they'll be 2p at 3pm.
I had an 08.40 appointment but went in early, was seen early and out before 08.30. The consultant gave me his opinion on 'effing celebrities with ADHD' and non-celebrity attention seeking adults self diagnosing with ADHD. I dragged attention back to me and I reported no issues with my knee, in fact it's the best it's been for years. No interventions required at the moment, come back in a year unless anything happens in the meantime.
I'd intended to take a photo of the hospital tree or something but there wasn't one. When I arrived home there was a man putting the notice up for the tree work so that's all I've got. I've got the right hump with my neighbour at the moment (well, her son, Chris who is running the show these days). He's going to think we're chipping in for the cost of the tree fellas but he's going to be disappointed. He wants the work done because it will help him sell the house, it's their tree, their benefit, their bill.
I took Tommy out for a walk, fed my birds and came back to have a mad hour tidying up before the return of the prodigal husband. I quickly lost interest in housework and took to the settee to watch White Christmas.
A trip to the chippy for fish and chips solved the dinner dilemma; maybe it can become a new tradition?
