Unexpected
We went for a walk at Castle Archdale. I was surprised to see the exhibition was open, as it is usually only on a Sunday. Downstairs covers native species & upstairs is the exhibition of Castle Archdale & World War 2.. The RAF, US Airforce & Canadian troops were stationed there. iI is famous for having Catalinas & Sunderland planes flying from the base.
My Grandfather, a local GP would have attended some of the troops on occasions, my Dad used to recall visits there. I haven't been in to the exhibition in years, so it was great to go round it again & they have improved it since my last visit.
Apparently this is a stained glass window, salvaged from the manor house that used to be here.
