WHERE DID THAT YEAR GO?

So here we are again, at another Blipversary - I don’t know where the year has gone - and I don’t suppose I am alone in thinking this!

It has been a good year on the whole, with some health issues, but none that were insurmountable - and both Mr. HCB and I have kept smiling through them all.

However, we realise that one of the perils of getting older is that it takes longer to do the things that you used to do very quickly - including sorting out a daily Blip.  Mr. HCB is an early bird and I am an owl, so he is often up and out in the garden by 6 o’clock in the morning, whilst I am often to be found at my computer well after midnight as I was last night!  They say opposites attract and that is certainly true in our case!  I think I was still buzzing from all the excitement of my birthday - and thank you to everyone who wished me well.

So - 4,380 entries on Blip and I was gob-smacked to read my statistics - and I don’t mean the “vital” ones as they used to be called!

Today, as you can see will be my 4,380th entry - or 12 years - not quite on the date, but with a few extra entries and Leap Years thrown in that sounds a lot of entries and writing.

I am followed by 449 people and on my Blips there have been 1,658,686 views - WOW!  I try to make my journal entry interesting and the fact is, that even at my age, I can still type very fast, so prefer to do it on my BIG computer using a proper keyboard.  Looking at my stats, I average 429 words per entry, so multiplying that by 4,380 means I have written 1,879,020 words - ANOTHER WOW!  If you are interested, this entry is 644 words!

I have reached 22 milestones, have never missed a day and have never back-blipped, so all in all, I think it’s pretty fair to say I AM TOTALLY ADDICTED TO BLIP, which I guess is even better than being a chocoholic because at least Blip doesn’t make me put on weight!!  Oh, and I still have 4 extra photographs left for this year!

Of course, I couldn’t do what I do without the help of my wonderful personal assistant, Mr. HCB, who is long-suffering, kind and thoughtful - although not always willing, especially when it comes to posing for a Blip!  However, I can forgive him that and it is fitting that my MOST POPULAR TAG is FlowerFriday - which is a credit to him and all he does in the garden.  This is closely followed by Silly Saturday, and thanks are due to Admirer and for all those who carry on the tradition, even since she passed away.  If you read my Birthday Blip yesterday, you will know that people even buy me special friends to be added to the Gang!

I close by thanking all those at Blip Central who keep things on an even keel - even when some of us tear our hair out when things don’t go right - so a HUGE THANK YOU to all of them - unsung heroes, everyone!

I’m sure I am not alone in saying that Blip brings many of us immeasurable joy, we have made wonderful friends and met many Blippers on Blipmeets all over the world and I/we still hope to do that - so watch out!  LONG MAY IT CONTINUE!  Bless you all.  M xx

P.S.  You all know I love my apps and thanks to Mumof4Wildlings, who recommended it, I have an App called Phinsh, so made up the numbers using Blips from 2013 onwards and of course, it had to be outlined in purple!
