Day 16; empty

The pool was empty this morning.  People are leaving.  We sat watching as hotel staff wheeled cases and carried bags to waiting taxis.  

The staff come and chat to us - they have a bit more time on their hands now.  The restaurant manager tells us he will go home to Shimla for a couple of months when the monsoon comes to Goa.  His passion is fishing for trout in the mountain streams.

This afternoon we - and D&V, Yakshi and Elvis the baker - went down to the beach for a last sunset with Varnika’s mum, auntie and uncle.  They are flying home to Delhi this evening.

We too will be going home soon. This is our last night at the hotel. Tomorrow we’ll hang out at D&V’s; our flight leaves at 4.00am on Sunday.
