A Day In The Life

Quackery

We visited the river again this afternoon hoping for more ducks and mergansers. No merganser sightings but the huge flock of quacking mallard ducks did not disappoint. They were gathered in the same spot as yesterday but I had a longer lens with me this time • When we pulled into our driveway a loud guttural sound grabbed our attention. There walking down the middle of the road was a large raccoon. At first we were concerned it was rabid but it soon disappeared through the snow into the gully below our house. A Mama calling out to young ones? • We also spotted another hawk being chased by numerous squawking crows - this morning and again this afternoon! • Sadly a mourning dove died next to the house. Another mystery but I relocated it for the hawk or another hungry visitor • Peace & Joy for the weekend ahead!
