The Kindness of Strangers
I can't believe it's Friday already! I was up and out sharp this morning and headed down to M&S at Craigleith to return a couple of things. I couldn't believe how quiet it was. While there I picked up a couple of rather delightful goodies from the foodhall - not that I actually needed more chocolate but these were irresistible at half price.
I spotted these chocolates(extra) before Christmas and bought a box for my sister. They are so pretty and I felt guilty that she had opened them and was sharing them with us. They'd been reduced to half price today, so I bought another box to give her to take away, so that we could all enjoy the box that was already open without feeling bad about it.
Back home, after a quick cup of coffee I headed for the rectory to meet the chimney sweep. It's all starting to look more cared for there. The internal painting is almost finished and the garden has been worked on too. I've met some very good tradesmen both times I've been doing this job .
Back home again briefly then out to take communion to an elderly housebound member of the congregation and her daughter and son in law who care for her. It was very special, a real privilege to be with them. I used the little silver topped flask which I wrote about a few weeks ago here, if you want to look back to the story -

As you can see from the main collage it fits perfectly. I'd like to try to get either an inner seal for the bottle, most probably plastic, or a cork lining for the lid just to make it perfect. That's my next problem solving exercise.
I emailed the antique dealer who gave me the bottle to show it with the set and to thank him once again. Within minutes I had a lovely reply from him. It really warms my heart when I think about it. The whole set has a lovely, rich silver sheen which hasn't come out well in the photograph at all sadly.
