Lavender and Bees

I love this time of year, my front border is full of lavender and the lavender is full of bees - big fat bumble bees, buzzing around along with the odd honey bee and butterfly but it's the bumble bees that steal the show.

I hadn't quite realised how many different type of bee visited my lavender until I tried to get some shots of the buzzy little buggers, they are speedy little things. You would think they are all the same but some have yellow bands, some brown bands and some have stone coloured bands - fascinating, I could watch them for hours.
