Carved in Wood
We were at Cotehele today, the atmospheric Tudor house by the River Tamar in Cornwall. 10 of us on a dull, damp and misty Saturday. Meeting there when the property opened was a good plan as we had the cafe/restaurant almost to ourselves and then the same when we went to look at the 60ft Christmas garland in the great hall and walked around the gardens. In the great hall there is much of interest. In addition to the armour and weaponry on display there are some great carved wooden chairs, one of which was dated 1729. I particularly liked the back of this one with the carved figure on it.
