A walk in the park

Another grey, misty day but not as bad as the previous two so I ventured out for a walk. I went down to Taylor Park, through part of it and then walked down towards town and caught the bus home (which was late again) opposite St Thomas' Church.
While I was walking from the park towards town I'd checked the app for the buses and it told me an 89 bus was not due for 28 minutes (in effect I had just missed one, since they are every 30 minutes at weekends) but it passed me in between stops - grrr! It had been late (it seems that the 89 bus is always late).
In the park there were a number of trees down and some recently cut down to stumps. This one, near the cafe had made a right mess of the railing. It's my first walk in Taylor Park since we had the gales.
Most of the rhododendron bushes had been hacked back - and I mean hacked, not pruned or trimmed. They look a mess but I daresay they will rally. It's a pity they had not cut back the brambles which are going rampant beside the paths now. Maybe they will cut them back later.
Walking in this misty weather gets you pretty wet although it's not raining. I was thinking I needed windscreen wipers on my specs as I had to keep wiping them with a tissue.
I was glad to get a walk done though as I was going stir crazy.
