Cheerful

Like all the birds in the "tit" family, chickadees are just tiny little bundles of adorableness.  They seem to have no fear of humans and will easily land on a hand to grab some seeds if one is just patient for a little while.  And, they are just so stinking cute.  

It has been very foggy and drizzly today so not really idea for pics.  I was trying out my new (reconditioned) 70-180 f2.8 lens today and wanted to get some pics of Jax in the snow, but the fog was really too heavy to get any detail at distances over 10 feet or so.  I even had to move my hide a little closer to the feeders to get some usable shots of the birds.  

Turns out that the big sinkhole on Route 80 is an old mine.  Makes you wonder why the tunnel was left open when they were putting in the interstate, doesn't it?  The sinkhole measures 40 feet deep by 40 feet wide which is pretty astonishing.
