Both S and I have had bad flu recently so missing various activities and outings and unfortunately had to cancel a visit by A, M, and the grandchildren. Today was the first time we had been out for a short walk in over three weeks and we felt refreshed by some sea air at Musselburgh.  This is the view of gorse at the approaching high tide off the mouth of the River Esk.  Behind us at Fisherrow Harbour there were several Coastguard and Police vehicles, an ambulance and a Royal Navy Bomb Disposal with many people wondering what was happening.  We watched a RIB racing across from the harbour towards somewhere near Inchkeith to defuse a WW2 torpedo that had been dragged up last night by a boat from Granton.  Some policemen said it was a fishing boat but according to the internet it was a dredger.  One of the many policemen watching from the harbour wall told the crowd that the boat was safe as the bomb had been removed and deposited on the seabed about two miles from land and ready to be defused at high tide.  After waiting to see the explosion we gave up and retreated to the warmth of Tesco to do our shopping.
