12 Years of Blipping...
Today it is my 12 year anniversary of blipping, and when Luke persuaded me to go skiing with him, I only said yes as I had an image in mind for my 12 year anniversary!
I started blipping when I was in Switzerland 12 years ago, not on this date of course as Blipfoto does not take into account leap years. When I said to myself, gosh, 12 years of blipping I was reminded of the movie title, '12 years a slave' and I must admit I have been a slave to Blip, never missing a day in 12 years. It is a wonderful community, I have got to know so many other blippers and I am very grateful to have found Blipfoto and very thankful to those who keep it going.
These days I am a bit of a reluctant skier, but this week the conditions are so perfect with blue cloudless skies and it's not cold, that I could not find an excuse not to go. We were up early this morning, we took the 7.45 bus down the hill into the village and were on the 8am gondola up the mountain. Unlike France where the first lifts are usually ay 9am, here its an earlier start. The sun was rising as we were ascending the mountain in the gondola.
I had a good day skiing with Luke, we covered 25 km before lunch with not much of a break other than a short stop for coffee. My legs were tired by the time I sat down to lunch! Gavin walked Xena this morning and then came up later to join us for lunch. Adam took Anna up the same mountain which is not easy skiing, and she did find it far too difficult for a beginner.
After skiing when we were back in the village I bumped into a friend and her son, who has been friends with Tommy since they started at nursery school together. He was disappointed that Tommy is not here this year to ski with him.
Now a quiet evening to rest my legs!
