We went to Bath with our sons for a walk along the Kennet & Avon Canal from the point where it starts in central Bath to Bathford. Some things, we'd expected to see, such as the view of the city and the beautiful ironwork bridges. Other things surprised us, such as an accessible greenhouse on a canal boat and some unusual wording on the side of a boat. Most surprising of all though was a collection of animals in what looked like a smallholding alongside the tow path. Hens, yes, geese yes, but a porcupine? We really didn't expect to see that!!
