Getting the wind up

A shot of part of a new toy.  You'd be forgiven for thinking it's mine but in fact, it belongs to W.  A new weather station that replaces an old one we had that steadfastly refused to tell us the temperature outside.  This one is all bells and whistles, telling us not only the temperature but the wind speed and direction, humidity, barometric pressure, rainfall, sunrise and sunset times, phases of the moon and the price of gold in Peru.  Well, perhaps not that, but it does connect to the internet so that all the data can be fed into national forecasting.  All a bit more sophisticated than the old 'max/min' thermometers we had outside years ago.

I'm awaiting a bracket so I can install it properly but that won't arrive until next week so for the time being it's stuck on the top of a broom handle outside the back door.  A fairly handy spot to nip out to take a shot; the more observant will have noticed I've sneaked in a couple of selfies too, one the right way up and the other upside down.
