The Sooze

Trying to learn how to use light. Fannied around for ages taking photos of Sooze in profile while she played by a window. Nothing came out right, then she turned and gave me a smile and then went on back to playing. The light is how I wanted it but I couldn't tell you the angle she was at to achieve it. Why do I feel that learning to take better pics is going to be a long process?
