Long Day

Our first day on the road south is always a longer drive than any of the rest because we're trying to get out of the mountains and far enough south to not worry about the water freezing.  Today's drive was made even longer by a nearly constant drizzle and, for about a dozen miles, some very thick fog.  Traffic jams and the threat of high winds also slowed us down.  Driving in a high state of alert for 8 hours is tiring to say the least.
    But we made it to our first stop and enjoyed a terrific Italian dinner at a local restaurant. Then almost straight to bed.
