I was on a little walk by myself today. I visited the churchyard in Higher Kinnerton, to look at the three war graves there.
The lych gate is itself a war memorial, and was recently restored after it was damaged by a vehicle.
The grave of William Davies (Extra) is interesting. He died in Fulham Hospital March 26 1918. There is a website dedicated to this hospital, the gift of the Bishop of London to be used as a military hospital during World War One. It closed in June 1919. The website has some fascinating photographs, and poses the tantalising question. Is William Davies pictured here.
