Tail end
As the tail end of the year slips quietly away it is a good time to reflect and think and make plans for 2025.
How better than to stare in to the twinkling lights of the Christmas tree and enjoy the new bauble I was given by my eldest daughter this year. She got it from William Morris' house when she visited on her journey up the Thames this summer. A trip that nearly saw here spending winter at home as her boat became caught up in the floods.. we are thankful for her that she escaped before the winter floods took hold. She is now safely on the canal on a strong mooring with a stone bank.. much better.
Our youngest has had an amazing year with travel to Uganda in the spring and the prospect of buying a house on their agenda in the new year.. they narrowly missed out on a nice one just a few weeks ago.
It is Hogmanay and whilst the celebrations in Edinburgh have been cancelled I am sure the pubs up there will be delighted.. more trade for them. We are going to have a quiet night in with a movie no doubt and more leftovers.. when will they ever end!
I have booked a 4 day painting break which I am looking forward to immensely and have already made a resolution to turn up to paint every day as if it is a job.. I wonder how long that will last! I need to create more to frame so have my work cut out.. looking forward to it.
Wishing you all a Happy and prosperous New Year!
