Long in the tooth

My trusty old compact camera still goes strong despite a ravaging over the past 6 years - when it was almost new it was dropped lens-first into a plate of hot nachos in Vegas, on another holiday it was dropped onto a paving slab (hence the dinted lens mount and it has seen several music festivals.
It was not in my possession at the time of these episodes (well, except the nachos), but it still works well even if you have to open the slightly sticky lens cover with your fingernail. Amazingly the mechanism and lenses were unaffected by the abuse.
