Reels

A very slow morning, having woken to lashing wind and rain on the windows, chatting and making some pastries to share. I’d bought pain au chocolat and cinnamon roll cartons that the kids popped open and prepared and we watched some of Endurance on Disney+ (thanks Laura for the suggestion) and talked about the Antarctic and hardship and heroism and eating the puppies (lots of sadness at that point).
I nipped up to the supermarket to get some things in for today and tomorrow then home and we had rolls for lunch before Mt&H went off for the afternoon looking at houses. They’re talking about a move up here which I’m trying (and failing) not to get over excited about ….let’s see if it materialises though,
During a bit of downtime for the kids I called T to check how he is…he managed about 5 hours sleep last night but still has a high temperature and headache so we talked about his various medications and things he might try to eat, as well as drinking more. He’d got a food delivery in, with things A had suggested he tried, and seemed to be doing well.
I then took AR and Mx to the family ceilidh round at the Counting House. It was great, although very crowded. AR did several dances with me then I had to go and get a long iced drink to cool down! After a break, we all did one together then Mx and I did a couple of dances to end with….loving the chaos and the way all the adults helped the kids there to have fun,
We all left, exhausted! We got home the same time as Mt&H and chatted over the places they’ve seen and what happened at the ceilidh. Fed the weans then we had sausage and mash and veg for supper. Mt had work to get on with so we watched some nonsense and looked at the comic books AR was writing. We won’t be staying up til the bells, but Happy New Year to everyone…. I hope 2025 is a kind one!
