Beach Landing

We travelled through South Uist to Eriskay and took the short ferry to Barra. Of course, we headed straight to the airport to witness the plane landing on the beach! We were really lucky and saw 3 landings and take-offs as in addition to the scheduled Flybe flight, a French plane landed, took off, did a wee circuit and landed again before flying off into the distance!

It was quite a sight and something I've wanted to see for ages.

We went over the causeway to Vatersay and had a walk on the lovely sands there, once again in the sunshine.

We ate dinner at a wee restaurant in Castlebay which had a real buzz about it, people were sitting inside and out and we were overlooking the castle in the harbour.

A beautiful sunset tonight and we spotted some otters on our way home.

What a day!
