My mum would not be impressed

We gratefully took the Christmas cake that my mum made for us and did... absolutely nothing with it. So tonight we simply dusted some icing sugar over the marzipan and started slicing. To be honest, I think it tastes better without the extra sugar. But it doesn't look as pretty as previous years when we have gone to town with the decoration.

To mark the last day of 2024 we decided to take things easy in other ways too - with a lazy start, lunch out, a leisurely stroll, naps, games, antipasto dinner, and some TV including more of The Box of Delights. This is something I've been looking forward to for years- H is finally old enough to watch it but spent a lot of time laughing at the 1980's magical special effects! The most complex part was possibly D making margaritas.

It's all suiting the wet and windy, but not very cold, weather outside.
