Beer O'Clock

I know... another beer Blip. What has become of me? Where will it all end?

Oh... wait... it is Hogmanay! 

I should be getting blootered. Maybe next year. 

Meantime I will manage fine on that utterly delicious Belgian beer. The brewery is in Achouffe, just a stone's throw from the (non) border with Luxembourg. 

They also make a beer called Mc Chouffe, described as a "Scotch ale". I doubt if many Scots will ever have heard of such a thing. It seems to be a figment of the Belgians' over active imaginations. 

 I do have vague memories of that part of the world - particularly an 8 course dinner served up by the students of a college in Diekirch. The food was wonderful (French style with German sized portions). 

We were served a different wine with each course - all Luxembourg wines, naturally. The poor students were just about dead on their feet by the time it was finished. I was not much better, but sitting down at least.
