Welcoming committee

Today a new horse came to join the gelding herd. Above the welcoming committee met him at the gate and chewed the fat on whether to allow him entry. After negotiating the gate and the committee he was then driven away and excluded from the herd, but I am sure he will be allowed in and find his level over the next day or so.
It was interesting watching the dynamics, Miller as head of the herd watched the others chase him around a bit, was joined at times by the young ones who found it confusing and exciting, then he went and chased off the herd before giving the "newby " a full blow show of teeth and heels.
By the time we and his owners where leaving he was grazing alone being watch carefully by the lower members of the herd. His name by the way is Reg.
Still hot and sticky with some heavy deluges very localised. Take care out there one and all ;¬}
