Red legged gull

Today to give myself a change of scenery I went down and sat by the sea for awhile. A very grey day. This gull just sat by my car and watched. I guess it was hoping for food.
At midnight I had the living daylights scared out of me. I heard a huge noise and thought something had hit the side of my house. However it was the fireworks starting down at the Bay. The exploding noises were dramatic. Once I calmed down I went outside and watched them. I was fortunate to get a great view from my terrace. I never got to sleep til after 3am and was awake again by 6am so have been rather tired and needed a nanna nap this afternoon
