Thunder and lightning!

Something that is less than ideal while sailing in the middle of the ocean, in a boat with a very tall metal mast, is a lightning storm. Of couse we sailing right into one, with thunder deafening us and lightning getting closer and closer! We had just head a story the day before of someones boat being struck, and all te electrics being completely broken onboard, and even the VHF radio microphone being fused to the holder!

Dad reconed that our phones might be safe in a metal box, so in the pressure cooker they went! I stayed below while mum and dad got soaked up on board in a sudden hail storm. We changed our course towards some cliffs and the storm passed as quickly as it came - phew!
