Punctate flower chafer on zinnia
The flower chafers are a kind of scarab beetle. They love nectar and pollen so this one lucked out by landing on a zinnia. Both peak in the Sydney summer. The punctate flower chafer lives up and down the east coast of Australia.
I got to Sydney Park by 5pm and left at 6.30pm. It was boiling hot and the bright light was challenging. My main and extra, a tender moment between a girl and her dad, were the best of many more snaps today. This is summer in Sydney.
With this blip I reach five years of blipping. That went fast! I think you blippers are all a bunch of legends and I thank all my followers, visitors and all who keep the site going. Blip on and I will too.
Thanks for hosting Steveng.
