Great Ayton, North Yorkshire

This is a scene I see every time I travel to my daughter's house in New Marske. This time I was determined to stop and grab a shot. I caught it at an unusually bright time considering past conditions.

Great Ayton has the River Leven flowing through the village, today it was very high. In the background you can see Roseberry Topping standing at 320M (1050ft) above sea level. 

Captain James Cook lived in Great Ayton between the ages of 8 and 16.
