Happy New Year

I made a double batch of shortbread yesterday. It is traditional to have shortbread and fruit cake for visitors and I also take some as a gift when visiting.  I have only given two little bags away and as you can see there is not a lot left. I know the culprit. I hear him opening the tin regularly.
This poor blackbird was trying to get to the food but a lady blackbird kept chasing him off. 

While most people seem to have had rain we had quite a nice day so we went for a walk and met a few others out and about.  There was heavy rain through the night.
