Happy New Year…from Stirling castle

We have never got the hang of selfies so we asked a young Australian visitor to take a photo for us ( see extra) while up at Stirling castle. This is a place we usually visit, most often with our visitors. After all it's only four miles away and it's always open on New Year’s Day.
Our young photographer is from Sydney is  with her family and last night they watched the fireworks from Sydney harbour in their Edinburgh hotel  where the fireworks had been cancelled because of high winds. Yes, the severity of  Scottish weather had come as a surprise to them.  
I didn’t dare ask if they were enjoying their visit to Scotland fearing the answer. They had already been to Callendar House, (closed ), and the Kelpies (closed).
At least Stirling Castle is open.
