Christmas tree

I realised I hadn’t blipped my Christmas tree, so here it is.
I had a really busy day today, preparing for the New Year’s Eve dinner. I spent the day on prepping dinner. Roast potatoes, parsnips, Yorkshire pudding, making bread etc. It rained all day and was very windy all day.
My brother J was arriving during the afternoon and my friend J was joining us for dinner too. When she arrived around 6, she got soaked between where she parked and the front door! I was exhausted by the time we were ready to eat. We had a beef joint from our local butcher and that was delicious. Brother J had brought a wide variety of cheese, and we had quite a lot of cheese. By the time friend J thought about going home, the weather was worse. She didn’t want to stay but did let me know that she was home. Phew. I was so tired I didn’t stay up for the celebration at midnight! First time in ages I’ve not had a glass of fizz at midnight! Mr D celebrated alone as brother J also went to bed.
