Whitby Beach

This morning we walked down to Whitby Beach, having previously been there only at high tide when there was less than a living-room worth of sand.  While the village was pretty sheltered, it was blowing a hooley once you got out on the sand!  It was much colder today too so we didn't linger long.

We retreated to the Magpie Cafe for a lovely lunch of Scampi & Chips, then MrsCyclops and CyclopsJnr played in the arcades for a bit while Cyclops refreshed himself by walking out to the end of the jetty!  We had another game of mini-golf (Cyclops won again) then went to a nice sweetie shop with sweets in jars to replenish our supplies.

We went exploring at Robin Hood Bay, which is a lovely picturesque little village, but our hopes of getting a nice hot chocolate and a cake were dashed - all the cafes were closed or closing by the time we got there!
