New Year's Day games 2025

Thanks to Jon we have a great record of everyone who joined our New Year's Day tea-cake-games-supper-games afternoon/evening today. Here are Caitlin, Brian, Sally, Elly, David, Bruce, hazelh, Mr hazelh, Paddy, Richard, and Jon. 

All the effort that I put into cooking yesterday and this morning paid off. It was just a two course meal, but one which required several dishes to accommodate personal tastes/preferences. For our main courses I served gado gado, a root vegetable tagine (mainly for the vegan), turkey curry (for everyone else), bhajis, samosas, and naan bread. For pudding I made pain au chocolat bread and butter pudding, a trifle (mainly for Jon), and fruit salad.

We played Catan, Azul, Bag of chips, Empire, charades, Werewolf, and Celestria. The fun started at 15:30 and ended at midnight.

My dedication to party prep got me out of a run in the sleet this morning. In the small amount of spare time between this and the arrival of our guests, I sewed some more name-tapes into Mummy hazelh's clothing. I will continue this job tomorrow.
