This was my return journey from the UK on 19th & 20th. 1,200km, the 13 hours partly explained by the dreadful Storm Babet. The tail wind benefit would have been negated by the rain and of course my lead right foot on German Autobahns. I did though keep more or less to the legal limits in Luxembourg, Belgium, France and UK. Did get caught by a camera in France on the outward leg on totally rural, no traffic, clear French motorway and in the way back by a wretched one in a tunnel descent in Luxembourg where I was rolling and for some reason didn't have the automatic speed limit control on. However neither events resulted in a ticket.
I had bought the one year €20, BMW radar warner sub for the trip. Not allowed (doesn't function) in Germany & some other countries) but did an excellent job in the UK, which I had been warned was peppered with speed traps.
