Taupo Thermal pipelines

Used to transport steam to generate electricity.
Rebecca and Will’s last day with us. They return to Christchurch tomorrow. The whole time he has been here, Will has had a sore back so he’s not looking forward to sitting on a plane for a couple of hours tomorrow. So today we went to the thermal pools in Taupo in the hope he could get some relief. He doesn’t think the hot water and natural minerals have done much good but we all enjoyed the soak.
These pipeline which run for many kilometres, take the hot stream from deep under the ground and deliver it to the power station. All around Taupo there is a lot of geothermal activity.
