Contre-Jour Koniks

Konik ponies were introduced at Wicken Fen in 2001 to help manage the land, along with other grazers such as highland cattle. I go out to Wicken Fen several times a year, but this was the first time I've seen the ponies.

There is quite a large herd now and they were peacefully grazing fairly close to the path. However, I still needed my om5/canon long lens combo to get some decent close up shots and I relied on  my phone for a few wide angle pics as well. 

I loved the way the sun was highlighting the horses bodies and although the raw files have better colour than I originally thought, this was always going to be a b/w image.
