Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

What a marvellous day. Nice for a wee drive in the snowy countryside. Not for us - Archie never ‘grew out of’ his car sickness, as the vet predicted…

When JR came back from her gymX2, we set off, keeping to the pavement that had defrosted. We happened to come along a street where my friend S lives. So I rang the bell on the off chance. Yes! She was in. In fact, she was only just in, having been on a trip to see the snow. Her friend was there, and she had just made a coffee. How about that for timing!

Sometimes from S’s house, we walk on to the cafe or the pub, but today, we walked back home via the vast Astley Ainsley hospital grounds.

I thought I deserved a Bounty on the way past the shop. I got one for JR too, hoping she wouldn’t eat it. But she did.

I’m enjoying, in the afternoons on some obscure channel, re-runs of Gavin & Stacey, which I’ve never seen. There are some laugh-out-loud moments.

Here’s Archie, hinting at me that he’s just about ready to continue with his walk. He’s been cultivating his comb-over.

7,357 steps.
