An early rise, a bit of a trek back to the Channel Tunnel and a rather too-close encounter with a "maximum height" bar at a toll booth.

Then we got ourselves onto the Tunnel train, and watched out the window as we left France. This was our last view of the country; a fraction of a second later we were inside the tunnel looking at dark walls whizzing past.
