What a shaggy fleece

A visit to Cambo Estate this morning. They do have a couple of Tamworth pigs and they have added a small group of sheep .... not sure of the breed but I suspect they are one of the more unusual breeds.

The Midwinter Festival was in full swing with activities for all ages. In the Walled Garden we found a Wassailing group. I realised that I didn't really know what wassailing was .....

Google explains all:
Wassailing is a winter tradition that involves, among other things, visiting orchards to bless the trees and encourage a good harvest.

The two wee boys were toasting bread in the fire pit and then taking their toast to hang on the branches of the many apple trees in the garden.
